ABOUT SUSAN TAYLOR BROWN
Susan Taylor Brown is the author of books for children, including the non-fiction book Robert Smalls Sails to Freedom (Millbrook 2006), picture books Oliver’s Must-Do List (Boyd’s Mills Press, 2005) and Can I Pray With My Eyes Open?(Hyperion, 1999) and the forthcoming middle grade verse novel Hugging the Rock, (Tricycle Press, August 2006.)  A popular speaker in the schools and at writing conference, she has served on the faculty for the Highlights Foundation Chautauqua Conference and was the  Writer-in-Residence for San Jose Community School. She is also a former newspaper columnist for the New Orleans Times Picayune and past instructor for the Institute of Children’s Literature.

Her website, www.susantaylorbrown.com and her blog, http://susanwrites.livejournal.com offers encouragement to writers of all ages and at all stages of their careers. She lives in San Jose, California with her husband, Erik Giberson, her dog, and over 5,000 books.
