June 2005
This website
is new! The old one was getting scraggly so I went for the complete
overhaul. I hope you enjoy it. (You could send me a note and let me
know what you think. I love getting mail.)
Be sure to check back often for any
updates.
Writing classes are new
too!
Are you a Brave Writer? Do you want to write but are fears holding you
back? Would you like to tap into deeper emotions when you write? Brave
Writing
is a 4 week online course intended to help you achieve your
writing dreams. Check out the
workshops page
for more information.
Check out my feedback
if you want to know what other people thought about some of my classes.
My blog is new. What is a
blog? A blog is like a website but it is
usually updated much more frequently (daily/weekly) than a website.
Some authors use them to keep fans informed of their travels and
speaking events. Some are newsy and keep readers up to date on the
latest news in a given topic. Some are ramblings on music or books or
dogs or whatever. Mine is about the writing life in general and my
writing life in particular. I remember when I was first starting out in
writing I liked hearing about other writers that had the same thoughts
and fears and habits as myself. I found it encouraging and hope I can
do the same for others.
Coming soon! My next book will be
Oliver's
Must-Do List, a picture book published by Boyds Mills Press
featuring the adorable illustrations of
Mary Sullivan. It will
be
published this fall and be available just in time for Christmas. If
you'd like to be added to my book annoucement mailing list, send me an
email with your snail mail address.
In the spring of 2006
Carolrhodda/Lerner will publish my book
Robert Smalls Sails to Freedom about
the slave who steals a ship to sail to freedom and turns the ship over
to the Union Army.
