If character is what we do when we think no one is watching, what is your character doing if he thinks no one can see him?
well, lately, my characters are doing the same thing no matter what I do–nothing!
Uh oh. That’s not good.
What do they have in their pocket or bag?
*G* Apparently rocks weighing them down.
No, I think I’m pushing myself to know too much too soon. I always have fits at the start of books.
Don’t push yourself. Play.
I have fits at the start too.
and in the middle.
And at the end.
And it’s just so much fun all the way through. 😉
One of mine is…watching. Because he can see, a little, even though everyone believes he’s totally blind.
Also, he’s sneaking food. Never know when charity will run out.
Ooh, love the sneaking food. And does he always get away with it?
Well…actually, I think that’s how he gets caught in the lie about his sight. (Which works a whole lot better than what I had in the first draft–so thanks for the question, because otherwise I might not have known that!)
And what sneaky things are your characters up to?
Well he made some seed bombs, for starters.
And he’s digging a lot of holes for some reason.
Seed bombs? As in devices for deploying mass quantities of seeds, or as in devices for destructions that employ seeds. This is terribly intriguing!
My guess is he’s not just looking for worms. 🙂
As in devices for deploying mass quantities of seeds – where people least expect, or want him to. 🙂
Nah, he knows where the worms are. He put them there.
All right, that’s it. I like Plant Kid. He’s a boy after my own heart.
My MC spends the whole book doing things nobody else knows about. That’s why he gets into such trouble.
LOL. Trouble always comes home to roost, doesn’t it?
Khamaat goes for walks in the Egytian desert.
Mereyeta worships her god and goddess.
Alex visits history museums when he’s on leave from the Division.
And Grace works on doing research for the Peace Movement.
(The first two from _False Gods_, the second from _Survival of Species_.
Is Grace really working on research? Not sneaking a look at something she shouldn’t
Your characters all sound very nice – are they? 🙂
The Peace Movement in this world revolves around sneaking looks at things they shouldn’t. 🙂 Grace is an ex-nurse turned forensic investigator for hire, who feeds information to the barely-legal Peace Movement. The Movement is led by Oppenheimer and is trying to ferret out the government conspiracies. Grace is compassionate but surprisingly tough, and willing to shoot people who are shooting at her.
Alex would be nice if he wasn’t an embittered Special Operative for the U.S. government, doing black ops to cover up government dirt and overthrow third-world banana dictatorships. He has a thing for Grace, who now thinks she’s over him. Basically he’s a redemption project with a license to kill.
Khamaat and Mereyeta are much nicer than the two of them. Too bad they’re on the run from the Egyptian Gods. 🙂
Okay, I feel better now. I was like, man, where’s the conflict? LOL
They all sound very interesting.
Your books sound interesting too. Mine are unfinished. 🙂
I have so much conflict between the main characters that I have to surround them with outside conflict to make them work together. . .
Oh I like Travis a lot! Poptarts and baloney, what a hoot.
I like that thought.
Sarah spends a lot of time going about her day in silence. She doesn’t work, though everyone else around her goes to work and are younger and older than she is. So she stays deep in thought, trying to be busy, all the while days pass.
